I’ve gotten out of the habit of blogging. I have a pretty good domain name here so we are adding the blog back onto the current “to do” list.
Work That’s Fun? I could cover tons of topics with this name. I’m not sure if I had a clear meaning in my head of what I was trying to get across with my not so regular musings.
Originally, I think I meant being self-employed, no boss, no set hours, attending networking events, scheduling business trips and just going. All the fun stuff!
I’ve become involved with many different types of “work that’s fun” over the years and I do a good job with the fun part, the social, the helping friends out in whatever way I can. Because of that, I’ve developed some really great friendships with a lot of incredible peeps all over the world, which makes work incredible and oh so grateful for all of them.
With the power of Social Media, I’ve been able to enhance those friendships with many as well as to re-connect with those from my past. I love sharing funny and interesting things with all of them as well as making connections and introducing like-minds, so sharing each other from one avenue of my life with another.
A few events have happened in my personal life this summer that has resulted in some deep reflections as well as a lot of tears over losing a friend that was a big part of our local networking community and another dear friend that is having to give up her truly loved business due to health challenges. If we want to make a difference in the lives of others, we have to play a part, any part and even baby steps count.
Do what you can do.
I need to focus my efforts on some new and different types of work as I grow my Social/Mobile Marketing business. Helping local businesses to engage with their community through social and mobile platforms is my tagline. I’m passionate about doing that and truly love all of the small business owners that I’ve worked with so far.
I’ve learned more than I ever thought possible over the last year and at times, seemed like a huge learning curve. Lots of things took 8 X longer than I thought it would.
One of the most important lessons that I’ve learned these past few months is that I don’t have to do it all myself and we all have the same 24 hours in a day, it’s what you do with it that matters most. We need to balance our life and devote time to family and friends and what’s really important to us, that’s where the magic can happen if you let it.
Look for some completed projects coming up soon. It’s time to get serious about work that’s fun. Vicki~
p.s. I do need to learn more about wordpress and not be afraid of it.
